Frequently asked questions

Do you offer therapy in person?

Yes. Most sessions take place in person at my rooms at the Manor Medical Centre, 189 Kelvin Drive, Morningside Manor, Sandton. The centre has secure parking and a comfortable, private waiting area.

Do you offer online therapy?

Yes. Online sessions are available via Google Meet or Zoom. Book a convenient time and you will receive a link to connect. Many clients combine in-person and online sessions depending on their week.

Can I claim from my medical aid?

Yes — you claim directly from your medical aid. After each session you receive an invoice. Once you have settled it, you receive a paid invoice stamped PAID, which you submit to your medical aid for reimbursement. Invoices include the ICD-10 and procedure codes your scheme requires.

How long are therapy sessions?

Sessions are 60 minutes.

How much do therapy sessions cost?

Psychotherapy sessions are charged in line with medical aid rates set by the Board of Healthcare Funders. The current session rate is available when you book, and rates are negotiable with your psychologist.

How many sessions will I need?

It varies from person to person. We begin with a first phase of one to three sessions; after that, we decide together on the best way forward and the frequency of sessions.

Do you work with children and teenagers?

Yes. As an educational psychologist I work primarily with adolescents and young adults. For clients under 18, a parent or legal guardian provides consent and is involved in a way that supports — and respects — the young person's process.

Is what I share confidential?

Yes. Everything shared in therapy is treated as confidential within the limits of the law, and your personal information is processed strictly in terms of the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). You sign a clear consent form before therapy begins, and you can read our privacy policy at any time.
