How I help / Anxiety
Anxiety
Anxiety can feel like a constant hum in the background — racing thoughts before a test, a knot in the stomach on Sunday evenings, or panic that arrives out of nowhere. It is one of the most common reasons adolescents and young adults come to therapy, and one of the most treatable.
Together we look at what anxiety is protecting you from, how it shows up in your body and your thinking, and which situations switch it on. You will learn concrete tools to settle your nervous system, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, and gradually face the things you have been avoiding — at a pace that feels safe. Parents are brought in where it helps, especially around school pressure and exam stress.
What sessions look like
- 60-minute sessions, in person at Manor Medical Centre, Morningside Manor, Sandton — or online
- A first phase of 1–3 sessions to understand what's going on
- A plan we agree on together — frequency, goals and how parents are involved (for younger clients)
- Invoices you can submit to your medical aid, with the codes your scheme needs
