How I help / Bereavement & Loss
Bereavement & Loss
Grief is not only about death. The loss of a parent or grandparent, a family divorce, emigration of close friends, even the loss of a future you had planned — all of these deserve space and care.
There is no correct timetable for grief. Therapy offers a place where the loss can be spoken about openly, where confusing feelings — sadness, anger, relief, guilt — are normal, and where meaning can slowly be made from suffering. For children and adolescents, I work in ways that match their age and how they naturally express grief.
What sessions look like
- 60-minute sessions, in person at Manor Medical Centre, Morningside Manor, Sandton — or online
- A first phase of 1–3 sessions to understand what's going on
- A plan we agree on together — frequency, goals and how parents are involved (for younger clients)
- Invoices you can submit to your medical aid, with the codes your scheme needs
